The Neighbors: Original 2007 Pilot

March 19, 2018 § Leave a comment

Okay, back to my usual business and it is about time that Tommy Wiseau’s sitcom The Neighbors is back… sort of! Now it’s obvious that Tommy is now becoming more of a household name thanks to the release of The Disaster Artist and the fact that he was in Golden Globes but this month is weirdly a month devoted to him in many places. He shows his acting chops as The Joker, appeared in two different music videos and even break down the scene from The Disaster Artist on Vanity Fair. For a guy who once made a bad movie, he is now big and probably bigger by the upcoming release of Best F(r)iends.

But upon all those, I’m not talking about it. Instead, I’m looking at the semi-return of the sitcom by a recent leak of the original pilot made in 2007 by Monique La Barr who was in few Asylum movies like Transmorphers and Death Racers. Uh, I can’t believe I mention that ICP movie but in fairness, it’s not the only time I’ll bring up that movie this year so foreshadow to one of my near-future reviews. And yeah, she’s in the pilot as Bebe but IMDB didn’t mention it yet so give it time. Anyway, how is this once unseen pilot held and compared differently to its 2015 series counterpart? Well, to my surprise, it is different.

I won’t bring up the plot since it’s really just a selection of plots and subplots later used in 2015 series that I already reviewed like the arrival of Princess Penelope (Sheryl Chambers) for example and it’s not much really. There are ideas missing here that’s later used in the actual series like Ricky Rick being one of the characters absent but it’s almost like I’m watching a demo version of the show. The film quality is also a surprise since it is filmed better than the 2015 version with audio and visual being perfect. The set however is just the office and literally nothing else except the exterior stock footage of a building.

The performance is okay but outside of Tommy Wiseau and Jennifer Lieberman (and Branden Kong who’s almost unrecognisable there), I think I’ll stick with the characters played by ones in 2015 version than this. No offense to stars like Drew Gallagher and Monique La Barr but it’s the way I feel to be honest. While the series hasn’t properly returned, I guess this is what we got so far out of it and it’s worth seeking out since well, the whole thing leaked on YouTube which I provide the link below to watch. So do watch it and wonder how different the pilot is than the rest of the show itself and the results might be surprising.

The Neighbors: Season One DVD

September 14, 2016 § Leave a comment

After all the craziness, I should get back to intended schedule which is my so-called “Nostalgia Lookback” and I think I should extend this to next year because really, we have few months left this year and I felt like I didn’t complete much. So anyway, what am I looking at this time? Twelve Monkeys? I haven’t finished watched the second season yet. Another Coens movie? Maybe but other than catching up to three movies, I might give a positive review on anything else anyway. Twilight? Uh, do I have to review something related to it? Uh, here we go – The Room Screencaptions which I made at the time where reviews of the movie were briefly taken down so why not look at Tommy’s own sitcom again but in the form of a DVD that I brought.

And it’s kind of timely since there’s recent news of a documentary about The Room being pulled from festivals including an attempted one in Sydney Underground Film Festival. Tommy is really such a prima donna, isn’t he? And this DVD is pretty much the funniest thing I ever ordered. To start off with, I gonna talk about the front and back cover and the design is poor and look like a total bootleg item. The front has the cast including a weird guy in a crown that’s never in the first season and the way Tommy is in the pic is printed in bad lighting. The back however looks so much like one of those back cover to any porn including shots of sex scenes and I have to wonder if that is intentional or not.

The disc is alright but there is also a headshot insert card of Tommy Wiseau with an advert to his underwear brand right down to the sizes and all. Why it’s like that is beyond me but it should have been an advert of The Room on Blu-Ray or something. The episodes on the DVD are somewhat differed to the episodes previously aired on Hulu. For one, it’s gotten a “George Lucas Special Edition” treatment with Tommy throwing weird sound effects for no reason (and that’s saying something since the audio in the episodes itself isn’t fixed so expect usual clipping and bad audio). It also has a very few extended moments that is not worth discussing but also there’s the exterior building transition that went from this…

To well, this…

I already talked about the episodes themselves so do I need to recap all those six episodes again? Nah, let’s just skip to the special features and the first is an unreleased “To Be Or Not To Be” video which technically has already been released. You see, I once watched a special screening of The Room around the time Greg Sestero was in Australia promoting his book The Disaster Artist and during the screening is a little documentary about the book which includes that video itself. Oh, and the video is an unaired Street USA Fashions advert where Tommy is reciting Shakespeare while promoting products but with random photos of Tommy posing and stuff. Nothing much but it is worth checking out (well, the advert and not his photos).

The second feature is well, the Tommy Wiseau underwear advert that I already linked in one of my episodic reviews for the show. Skipping to third and it says Romeo & Juliet by Tommy Wiseau which by the way, I should point out something else but his name on the special features menu has a trademark at the end of it so I don’t know why but I guess I may as well do the same. It’s actually a music video short film known as Romeo & Juliette: The New Generation with a band known as Corscia Arts Club performing California I Follow with them wearing the famous Ricky Rick jacket. And the video has few cast members from the show just partying and stuff while Tim is falling for Juliette Danielle (yeah, Lisa herself shows up). It’s perhaps the closest way to say that this is the best thing Tommy Wiseau has ever directed.

And lastly, we have Shame On You by Tommy WiseauTM which is random footage from The Room and behind the scenes stuff. Nothing much really to be honest but it’s another thing you can look up on YouTube. The only downside to the special features is the original pilots (one of which is shown in this trailer) and it is such a shame because one does need to know how is it differed to the official pilot itself. As much as I still stand with this being the worst series of 2015, I can’t deny that this DVD is worth recommending really. Maybe it’s because of the advert, the music video or how six episodes were “fixed” for the release but it is worth checking out. So yeah, that does it for the DVD and now it’s a matter of time before the second season premieres so anytime now, Tommy WiseauTM. Other than that, I better see what is next in the “Nostalgia Lookback” series by looking at my 2010 stuff and what follows The Room Screencaptions is… my review of Metal Man!

Okay, I’m not gonna do that. And well, I got three TomCat Films involving superheroes left so I have to think of which one to pick. Other than that, it’s back to Zack Snyder retrospective and yeah, this is gonna be an interesting one so until next time.

The Neighbors Episode 6 – Triple Vanilla Sex

July 17, 2015 § Leave a comment

Okay, one more episode for the time being so how do I start with this? Honestly after me bringing up Tommy’s underwear brand, I don’t know. Maybe I should talk about my take on each character on the show since I already brought up Ricky Rick on the fourth episode so how about my unlikeness on Cici? No, that would be a massive long rant that goes nowhere plus I think I already brought up why I don’t like her a couple of her times so she’s kinda off-limits (but not when I talk about what she’s doing each episode). Hmm, of all the characters in the show, I guess I’ll go with Tim since he’s so far the only likeable character in the show. Now why do I like this guy instead of Troy or Princess Penelope or heck even Richard since he’s almost the second best character thus far?

Well, I know somebody who is similar to Tim to be honest and I’m still friends with the guy. Sure, he doesn’t carry basketball all the time but he does have the mannerism of him and even got clumsy at times so really, I kinda know Tim like I know one of my buddies. And as for the actor playing him… well, Raul Phoenix has his work as producer and writer on other stuff and he may not be as high-profiled as Tommy in terms of it but I decide to check on his stuff and I found his YouTube channel which is worth checking out. In fact, I can show you his demo reel to see how playing Tim in the show is not just the only good thing he’s ever done.

Uh fuck it, can I just not review this episode and watch more of his stuff instead? No? Come on, it’s hilarious and more of so-bad-its-good style than this show… Oh Okay, I’ll get to the episode. We begin at the office with Tim asking Rick about wanting his net in the basketball court but Rick just goes with his brain not being working. As Monica enters to talk about conversions, Rick does his Tiger Style again along with strange sound effects place in from Rick mentioning that Monica’s baby is ticking to I don’t even what’s going on anymore… uh, back to the show. Lula entered and wanted to spent time with Rick so with that, Rick wants Tim to substitute for him with Monica being his temporary replacement.

Tim Taking Over
Over at the hallway, Don goes to talk to Troy about what Triple Vanilla Sex is and Troy mentioned that he invented it (because why not?). Before Troy mentioned the meaning, Rick appeared and said that Don owned him ten bucks before he left. So Troy explained that Triple Vanilla Ice is what happens if you mix Vanilla Ice Cream with Weed and that it costs 40 bucks to do that. Don at first decides to go get his money first but then he wants Troy to mix it together before Troy declines like a dick. Back at the office, Monica asks Tim on what Triple Vanilla Sex is and before Tim reveals it, Troy enters and wants to know where Rick is. Tim doesn’t know and gives Troy a number for complaint before Troy acts like a dick towards Tim.

Troy Being A Dick
Troy then suddenly discovers that Monica is pregnant and wants to talk about it before Tim interrupts which leads to Troy acting like a dick again and left the office. Back at the hallway, Don talks to Cici about Monica slapping him because he slept with Patrick. Cici became surprised about it (even though she already knows about the love triangle) and begs Don to get help. Okay, nothing much there. Meanwhile at the office, Princess Penelope entered and complain to Tim about Philadelphia going around wearing a bikini (or in her own words “walking around naked”).

Cici vs Penelope
Penelope left and then, Philadelphia entered to complain about Penelope being rude to her. And then Troy entered to ask again on where’s Rick before he left. Returning to the hallway as Ed tells Mr B that Hallway Room sex costs five bucks which Mr B pays him for but before he explains his problems, Philadelphia quickly appears and asks Ed if he’s gonna join her in the pool later. He agrees and she left. So Mr B explains that he has a problem down below and Ed gives Mr B a pump to fix the problem but mentioned that its rental fee is a buck (and extra for cleaning it). Mr B pays him and Ed decides to go let Mariana know about Mr B having his small issue.

Ed's Pump
Back at the office (we really going back and forth in office and hallway in this episode), Rick appears with his “Dark Knight” helmet which has Tim wearing it briefly. And then Troy appears and is surprised that Rick is in the office. Rick then tells Troy to sit in the chair and as usual, Troy is being a dick to Tim by throwing stuff, messes with office material and gives Tim a complaint number which the zero number. Rick then ask Troy to take over the office for five minutes and he and Tim left but Rick returned ten seconds later to tell Troy that he’s messing with him. Troy then asks Rick about hiring prostitutes with Lula being the pimp (because according to Troy, nobody expects a female pimp).

Tim With Helmet
Rick then brought up that Ed is sick and having some accident (in the pool with Philadelphia?) before the episode end with Troy leaving as well as Lula appearing and both her and Rick left the office empty. Uh, this episode is okay and nothing bad happens except one thing – why is Troy acting like a fucking dick? Maybe he’s stoned out of his mind but seriously, what the heck man. I don’t know but next episode’s promo doesn’t help resolved it better which involves Ed making a heated argument with Troy. It’s watchable and one of the alright episodes. Speaking of next episode, the Mr B’s subplot involving his issue might (or might not) be resolved while Cici is shocked to see somebody having sex – my money is on either Don, Patrick and Monica or Philadelphia and Patricia. Other than that, I’m gonna look into Sharknado III (and maybe other stuff before more episodes of this show makes its way to Hulu).

The Neighbors Episode 5 – RR (Ricky Rick) Takes Over

July 10, 2015 § Leave a comment

Okay, back to the show and um, I don’t know where to start with this. Well, I should talk about Tommy’s own underwear brands that seems to be the dumbest form of product placement I ever seen. Granted, it’s not awful than Al Pacino doing Dunkin’ Donuts or Michael Bay throwing Xbox around in The Island but still, why promote your own product in your own sitcom in every single episode? I should be changing the show’s title to Tommy Wiseau’s Underwear Galore and that sounds like the most nightmarish porno around. And given that, this episode is no exception and it is very noticeable near the end.

Also, I checked the website for those brands and it turns out that Ricky Rick’s jacket is also for sale along with underwear brand for females which makes me wonder – if there’s an underwear brand for woman in the website, why isn’t it on the show? Okay to be more specific, you should by now that Philadelphia is a character who always walks around in her bikini so where’s the scene where she wears the ones Tommy promotes instead? And speaking of which, we see male characters showing their underwear so uh… no, that might make the show a bit more sexist. Oh boy, I now think I’m unintentionally promoting his underwear brand without his own knowledge so um… hey, here’s a commercial that Tommy is involved in.

I meant that one where he’s quoting Hamlet but anyway, I’m now either gonna get paid or sued by Tommy if he discovers this site so let’s just jump into this episode. It begins when Monica enters the office and talks to Ricky Rick and Suzy about the baby charge. Rick then thought an idea and said that she doesn’t have to pay for it, all while he is doing what he called “Tiger Style” (which is basically him using his pen and wave it around like crazy with sound effects, I don’t know why that suddenly happened). Rick then gives Monica a gift which is a paper airplane he made and she felt happy about it. Meanwhile at Troy’s apartment, Lula comes in and hangs with Troy while Ed explains that the ceiling fan is fixed and then he left.

Lula then hypnotizes Troy again and asked him about his fantasy is. Obviously, it’s having sex with Lula and she fulfilled that fantasy before he unhypnotoized Troy and doesn’t remember what happened. As she leaves, Troy is wondering what makes Lula so good and then overacts the fuck out with him saying “I’m such a happy camper” a couple of times.

Back at the office, Cici talks to Suzy about something and what we have is Rick coming in dressed in a knight helmet and metal gloves with roller skates. He explained he’s The Dark Knight (?) while showing his abs (which is computer generated) and caused a little mayhem.

Dark Knight
He left of course and I don’t know what just happened. A while later, Don comes in and talks about his confessed love with both Monica and Patrick before Cici complains that it’s against god’s rules. Patricia then entered and confess her own love before Philadelphia appears and they argued with Troy attempting to stop a catfight. Philadelphia bitchslap Patricia in front of them and the two suddenly left. While Philadelphia stands in the hallway, Princess Penelope comes and wonders where Richard is (I wondered about as well) before she argued about the way Philadelphia is dressed and they argued all while Philadelphia tells the princess to try on Vanilla Sex. Penelope then wondered what it is.

Vanilla Sex
They continue arguing all while other characters walked passed minding their own business (including Don and Monica who is back together) before Penelope decides to go and complain about Philadelphia’s near-nakedness to the new bosses of the apartment complex. Tim goes to Philadelphia and wondered what just happened before Rick goes to them and asked her to stop whatever the argument is about and let it go like they all just seen Disney’s Frozen. I’m not joking about that, they keep saying “Let It Go” like it’s a catchphrase to the show.

Let It Go
Rick returns to office before Philadelphia comes in and complains about a leak in her roof and that the leak is caused by a waterbed owned by Patricia (which would make it more than a ceiling than a “roof” unless Patricia really lives on the roof). Rick does his Tiger Style again and she left before Patricia entered and wants Philadelphia evicted. Rick then asks Patricia to take a number for the complaint and to come back in ten minutes. As she left, Lula entered and Rick doesn’t want to talk to her because of her having sex with Troy earlier. He felt depressed and Lula left which leads to Patricia come back and complains again.

Depressed Rick
Patricia then mentioned to Rick and Suzy that Philadelphia is both a crackhead and slut. Rick then points out that he needs evidence for this (yes, he needs evidence that she’s a slut and crackhead) and will get it before she leaves with getting her hugged by Rick. Troy entered and talks to Rick about Lula hypnotizing him more than once but Rick feels depressed again. He left and the episode ends with Rick showing his Tommy Wiseau underwear before they left the office. This next pic is what is gonna happen next episode.

Next Episode
As usual, nothing much happens in this episode and I find it funny that it’s called “RR (Ricky Rick) Takes Over” even though he already took over the previous episode. It’s a tad bit okay episode but it also waste a bit of twenty plus minutes of your time really. I guess the only good thing is the Ricky Rick dressed up as a knight but beyond that, that’s about it. Oh, and Troy overacting counts as okay as well. I really got not much to say except that the next episode explains what Triple Vanilla Sex is about. The answer may not really shock you.

The Neighbors Episode 4 – Black vs Yellow

June 26, 2015 § Leave a comment

Well, here it is. The first of a storyline where Charlie goes on an Hawaii vacation and have his job taken over by Ricky Rick so I do have to wonder – why is he considered an antagonist of this show? I mean, he’s just a average jock stereotype that so far has done nothing evil before this episode. In addition to this, he’s also a son of a wealthy unseen character so it bears my mind on why he decide to take over as a landlord when he’s supposed to do stuff that rich jock stereotypes usually do. Yeah, I didn’t mention that part before this but this is Tommy’s show, it either comes up once or twice or thrown away like Joe the pizza delivery guy.

Speaking of coming up once or twice, this episode finally marks the debut of “Crazy” Suzy which was referenced by Bebe in an angry way. I assume she’s also an antagonist-of-sorts but upon seeing this episode, I assumed wrong. And before we dig in, there’s also one more person to bring up and that is Princess Penelope’s new butler Richard. He doesn’t appear in this episode (and the next two for that matter) and there is a minor but not-that-clear reason so uh, I hope it’s not direct to him being suicidal or something. Yeah, I should have brought up Fidel Castro instead but let’s not waste time and see what goes on anyway.

The episode begins with Charlie working on his computer (which him typing random letters like an idiot is assumed to be “working”) and then suddenly Ricky Rick entered and talked to Charlie. Yeah, unlike previous episode, Charlie didn’t disappear in a split second because he’s talking to a character that’s also played by Tommy himself (and an obvious body double wearing the wig). As Charlie mentioned that Rick is taking over for a brief period, he also brought up that his father is a rich man but enough all that. Let’s move on to Ed measuring the board in the office before Cici entered to greet Charlie for a gift – a gift being the tenants singing Frère Jacques… A nursery rhyme that involves a guy whose overslept and is supposed to wake up with the sound of the bells!

Frère Jacques
They sang the song and Tim makes a fool of himself by singing for himself and hugging all the female tenants clumsily. They left and Charlie explained to Ed about an unknown incident in the laundry room with Richard that caused a lawsuit. As I mentioned before, it’s not clear on what actually happen but there’s the reason why Richard is not gonna appear in the next set of episodes (and maybe the show again). Later, Rick prepares to work by asking Bebe on how to use the computer. He then ask if he could strangle Bebe… I don’t know why but Bebe explained that it’s a no-no. Rick licks the computer screen that’s showing a picture of a zebra (?) and flashed his Tommy Wiseau underwear before Bebe also throws a no-no at him. And then, Rick pressured Bebe about how long he could take a break from the job.

Rick And Bebe
Rick is then at Troy’s place with Lula hanging out and drinking vodka which then comes the most anticipated moment of all – Fidel Castro making an appearance. And how he made such an appearance? He opened the door, is confused, apologizes and left. The three then agrees that he’s really a dick. You know what? I think I should take a little break from this so excuse me.

Fidel Castro
Where was I? Oh right, Troy hanging with Rick and Lula. Yeah, that’s all they do before Lula decides to go out and start some riot with them. Excuse me again.

Troy's Place
Uh let’s just move on and look, we finally meet Crazy Suzy (Debbita Deb) who turns out to be either an adopted sister or cousin to Bebe. So sibling rivalry then, I play along with it. And what she does is nothing much really before Troy entered and ask Suzy to get water and soda which leads to Troy and Charlie quickly checking on paper to put money deposit or some shit like that. Suzy returned, gave just a water to Troy before he gave it back and left. Bebe appeared and is shocked that her sister/cousin is in the office. She wanted her out of the office before she changes her mind and wanted Rick out instead which leads to them arguing. Also, Rick caused a bit of mayhem by spilling water in the office before he attempts to do the same and failed. Suzy asked Bebe if she could take a week off and at first, Bebe agreed but they argue again.

Ricky Rick
Suzy left the office and Bebe is annoyed by her appearance. Later, Ed entered and begs Rick to get his check deposit today instead of later in the week. Rick then asked Ed to be a “runner” instead and Ed agrees. Ed then brings up that Laundry Room is known as a sex place which leads to Rick saying that the place could have a $5 entry fee and a camera installed. They both left the office and end up in the hallway and Cici appears complaining to Rick about Philadelphia and Patricia because she’s a homophobe I guess. Cici left and Troy appeared to be a bit homicidal towards Rick but he left as well. Lula then appeared wearing the same jacket Rick is wearing and the episode ends with Rick and Lula left to take a “break”.

What in the flying fuck? This episode is as best jumbled in places but in the worst way. What’s with Richard and the lawsuit thing? Why did Fidel Castro appeared? Better yet, why is this in the show? Why is my time wasted on anybody unlikable except possibly Tim? This one is a bad episode and oh shit, it will continue on from here. I am glad that Suzy finally make her debut but am puzzled on anything else. Lastly, I question Rick’s purpose for the show since he doesn’t do anything antagonistic and is just a dumb jock doing dumb jock stuff. Although, him causing a mayhem in the office with Bebe and Suzy is the only worthy thing happening on the show itself. That Fidel Castro cameo? Forget about it. So to end this review on a good note, I think I should delay the next episode review for one week and look on something else instead in case I don’t suffer a burnout because of this show so uh, until next time then I guess.

The Neighbors Episode 3 – Sliding Cake

June 18, 2015 § Leave a comment

I might have been too hard on calling this the worst series I have ever watched. Sure, The Room is considered by many as one of the worst movies of all time but it is also a memorable cult classic so maybe The Neighbors is like that as well. And also, I have given the second episode a quasi-positive review but given that we at what I called the Party episode of the series (even though there’s already a mini-party in previous episode and the ending credits party sequence), I’m sure that I give this one a negative review. But before that, I have to ask – Why is this show based on Tommy’s novel really?

I specifically asked that because the novel is not available anywhere and it’s not the first time Tommy is guilty of it. The Room itself is based on the novel that to date, is unreleased. Really, why bother pointing it out? The Disaster Artist is becoming a movie and has any right to have the “based on novel” credit. I’m just puzzled by this logic and do have to wonder how long before the novel of this show (and that movie) will eventually be released if at all. But enough wondering, let’s see how bad this episode is.

The Room Novelization
The episode begins in the laundry room where Mariana is attempting to seduce Troy but he rejected and wants to do his laundry along with him regretting the one time they did it. And all of a sudden, Mr B entered and tried to break it up because he is in love with her. Mariana explained he’s delusional and he left. Over at the office and Ed is telling Charlie and Bebe on if his notepad is left here. They didn’t see it which then leads to Bebe noticing Ed’s smell and like it. Ed then shows his own Tommy Wiseau underwear to her which leaves Charlie a bit jealous but as Ed left, he forgets about it.

Over at the Hallway and we see Cici arguing to Patricia about her being a lesbian or something. They continue arguing and then decides to fight each other. How this battle will be resolved is a mystery as we then return to the office as Lula enters and not only Bebe talks about the free gun she got from Troy but Tim and Ed said the same thing as well. Oh, and Ricky Rick entered and asked Bebe about “Crazy” Suzy which had Bebe flipped out because she hates her. Over at Troy’s Place and Mariana entered to argue at him about Cici’s chicken which he has absolutely nothing to do with. Of course, Cici appeared and wants but drugs from Troy and left but not before Troy and Mariana argued more by screaming.

Will this issue also be resolved? I don’t know because we return to the office abruptly as Charlie is preparing to give Bebe a surprise birthday party and it’s not much really. It’s the usual “invite everybody, get birthday cake and make up something to the birthday girl” kind of plan here with Tim faking his knee injury and so on. And as nearly everybody (except Ricky Rick and Joe, remember that guy?) hide beneath the couch which is located on uh, the other side of the office? The next room? It doesn’t specify much but Bebe entered and got her surprise. Tim then gives her the birthday cake but not before tripping over and had the cake land on Princess Penelope.

So it results to the kind of food fight that has Mariana licking Ed’s chest (don’t ask) before Ricky Rick entered (while Charlie disappeared a second after) and yeah, they continue to party and that’s about it. Okay, I was wrong on saying that the second episode is forgettable because this one is more forgettable enough that the later episodes didn’t really follow up on this. The catfight, the party and even the Troy/Mariana thing is not worth talking about.

Birthday Party
There is something to this however as this is the second episode that mentions the yet-unseen character of Crazy Suzy (yeah, I didn’t mention this before but thought it’s a throwaway line at the time) and Don appeared in this episode but every time he speaks, he clicks which is absent on the first episode. I don’t know if has to do with Tommy wanting an African with a click language tone or something but it’s not the last time we see to that effect. And other that, that’s it. The whole episode is basically what you already seen in previous episode’s promo but in condensed (and not well finished) form.

Fake Doggy
It’s a pointless episode that serves two strange purposes and nothing more. But hey, next episode is the start of the storyline where Tommy Wiseau is going to Hawaii for a vacation and have his job taken over by Tommy Wiseau. Well, the characters playing him. Also, Fidel Castro makes an appearance so ooh, how he appeared is really something so until next time.

The Neighbors Episode 2 – Princess Penelope Arrives

June 10, 2015 § Leave a comment

Here we are on the second episode of The Neighbors, what have we really learned from the first one? I did explain it but really, it’s a show involving Tommy Wiseau playing two characters, a Pizza Delivery guy who might or might not be ever seen again (I seriously have to watch these two new episodes), blokes wearing Tommy Wiseau underwear, a stoner watching a Tommy Wiseau movie and oh yeah, that neighbor shouting and crying out for her pet chicken. Well, to be fair, there was a mention of a Princess Penelope so the good question to that is… who the fuck is Princess Penelope?

Princess Penelope
I knew there’s a Princess Catherine, Diana, Alexandra and even Mary who resides in Denmark but Penelope? The only reference to a Princess Penelope is the one who nearly married Krusty The Clown. the one who starred in The Royals and the one who stars in Penelope: Princess of Pets. Yeah, I’m looking into real world logics and I didn’t forget that she’s a fictional character really but look at it this way, this show also has Fidel Castro involved in a later episode but dammit Tommy, if you put a real world Cuban politician in your show then why not a real world royal princess hmm?

Fidel Castro
But enough talking about politics, let’s see how the show goes. The episode begins with Charlie getting change with the help of Bebe while discussing Penelope’s arrival and Tim singing in the hallways about the Princess. And suddenly, they also talk about having sex last night. Yeah, I didn’t see them being a couple on previous episode but hey it’s Tommy’s show, Chris-R could appear out of nowhere and pulled a gun at one of them. Mariana enters and is excited to meet Penelope before Tim appears singing in joy while asking Charlie and Bebe if they want Ice Cream. We got a cutaway to the exterior building shot before… going back to the office! Again, it’s Tommy’s show, a random alien could appear and disappear in a split second.

Tommy Wiseau
Charlie asks Bebe to check on his computer before she picks up a phone from Philadelphia who asked if she could meet the princess. She and Charlie said yes and hangs up the phone before complaining about Philadelphia constantly wearing the bikini. Charlie said it’s America and the complaint ended abruptly. Over at the hallway, Philadelphia meets up with Charlie and she felt depressed so they hug before he asked if she wants Ice Cream. Back at the office, Bebe then tells Charlie on why Philadelphia is feeling depressed and it turns out that Philly went to Patricia’s apartment and kissed her before she runs out.

Phily And Patricia
Ed enters the office and asked Charlie is he could get Penelope here while Charlie asked Ed to fix the Walkie-Talkie device. They both agreed on one other and as Ed leaves, Charlie says to Bebe that he wondered if Ed is uh, special! So a bunch of people entered the office and Penelope (Charolette Barlow) appears (while wearing a fez). Tim inappropriately touches Penelope on the bum cheeks, Charlie gives her the lease paper (why does a princess of British royalty get a lease paper exactly?) and Richard compliments her which leads to him being accepted as Penelope’s butler. The two left and Bebe mentioned that she forgot the flowers so Tim took and run out to give it to her. Oh, and Charlie has got his Walkie-Talkie back and has to wonder if it’s fixed.

Penelope With Fez
Over at Troy’s place, Troy is having a mini-party with Philadelphia and Patricia (Yenitza Munoz) and Patricia tries to come on to Philly but Philly acts like she’s not interested. Mr B (Branden Kong, which by the way is the unnamed Asian-American neighbor from previous episode) enters and exchanges money with drugs from Troy. And suddenly, Mr B tries to come on to two girls but failed before he left. Troy and Philly danced a little before Philly suggested the best idea she’s ever had – a threesome with Troy and Patricia. And it worked but given that it’s a sitcom, we are not gonna see that action. We then cut to Penelope and Cici meeting each other and given that we’re not getting a threesome, this is what we get that’s naughty instead.

Richard entered the office and complains angrily about eviction notice before Bebe asked if he could sign the lease extension form. He did and left while throwing the eviction paper. Charlie then explained to Bebe that Richard attempted suicide ten years earlier (which harkens back to my previous episode’s mention on Richard should be getting immediate help) and he knows this because the mayor (?) mentioned it via phone. Bebe decides to go easy on him. Back to Troy’s domain (well, the door of it which ha ha, the door number is 420), Cici and her pet chicken Fifi asked Troy for salt and pepper all while Troy is high enough to mistake Fifi for a tiger and wants to eat it. Nothing much beyond that.

Charlie later explained to Bebe that he’s going to Hawaii for possibly a vacation (he didn’t fully explained) before Tim enters with the ice cream which results to him “accidentally” dropping it. I say “accidentally” in quotes because a couple of seconds later, he brought a towel which might be outside the door to clean it. The episode ends weirdly and funnily enough with Charlie and Bebe talking and then abruptly cut to next episode promo footage (with next time text) and back to them talking and again, back to the promo footage but with proper sounds. I am not making this shit up.

Next Time Error
So like I said on previous episode’s ending note, nothing really happens in this episode. In fairness, it’s not a bad episode but it is forgettable. And Charolette did well even if she acts a bit bored. Nobody did a bad job (even Cici who is slightly annoying here) and the Philadelphia/Patricia lesbian storyline is not really necessary but it’s not as “all of a sudden” as Charlie and Bebe being a couple. Well, that’s all I got this one but next episode, it’s Bebe’s birthday so you know what that means.
